[sə'suːn], Siegfried Lorraine, englischer Schriftsteller, * Brenchley (County Kent) 8. 9. 1886, ✝ Heytesbury (County Wiltshire) 1. 9. 1967; nahm als Freiwilliger am Ersten Weltkrieg teil. Die Auseinandersetzung mit der Kriegserfahrung, die krasse Entlarvung sinnlosen Sterbens und verklärten Heldentums und später sein Einsatz für den Pazifismus bestimmen seine Lyrik sowie seine autobiographische Prosa, die auch für die einfühlsame Darstellung des ländlichen England bekannt wurde; verfasste auch religiöse Gedichte, 1957 Konversion zum Katholizismus.
